Hello, I'm Patricia Ziegler, a native in Middle TN. For years I have described myself in titles: Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, small-business owner, entrepreneur... However, in 2012 I added a new title, widow. I soon discovered that if I were going to overcome grief, I needed to create a new "golden era" plan. When a friend suggested I consider art and its therapeutic value, I started painting for the first time in my life. And haven't quit since. 

 

Most days I can be found painting in my studio (My Happy Place) or traveling to study with other artists whose work I admire. I continuously read art books, visit galleries and museums or get lost in my own creative process in my studio with my paintings. This is the place where I have discovered that happiness and contentment go hand-in-hand; whether I am taking colorful paint and a blank canvas and addressing it with zest - or approaching it with prayerful reflection. Painting provides release from stress, joy to celebrate, peace to contemplate and comfort. The resulting canvas allows the moment to be defined by one's own interpretation.
